Greek Spicy Baked Feta (Bouyiourdi)


Ingredients
  • 1 piece (brick) of Feta

  • 1 small green or red sweet pepper, sliced

  • 1 tbsp of tomato paste

  • 1/2 tomato, sliced in rounds

  • Smoked chilli flakes “boukovo”

  • Pinch of dried oregano

  • Salt and black pepper

  • Extra virgin olive oil

  • Gouda and cheddar cheese chopped in cubes (optional)

Preparation
  • Preheat the oven to 220C (approx 430F).

  • In the clay pot, arrange the slices of green pepper, and tomato to be as flat as possible.

  • Add a pinch of salt and a pinch of black pepper.

  • Place the brick of feta at top the arrangement of vegetables.

  • Drizzle with a small amount of extra virgin olive oil and put the tomato paste.

  • Top the feta with a pinch of dried oregano, and a pinch of chilli flakes “boukovo”.

  • Add the soft cheese's )Gouda nad Cheddar).

  • Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes, covered.
