Greek dessert ''revani''


Ingredients

For the Dough 150 g margarine 5 eggs juice of 1 orange 3 cups of semolina zest of 1 orange 1/2 cup flour for all uses 1 cup sugar 1 tablespoon baking powder 2 tablespoons cinnamon, cloves, crushed ½ cup grated almonds

For the Syrup

1 kg of sugar 3 cups water 1-2 cinnamon sticks pieces of orange peel to give flavor

For garnish

grated coconut

Preparation

For Dough In a bowl, beat well and add the margarine with the eggs and then add the other ingredients to the last baking powder and almonds. Grease and flour a baking pan well. Put the mixture and bake in preheated oven at 200C degrees 30 to 35 minutes.

Syrup In a saucepan put to boil over low heat all ingredients until it becomes a thin syrup.

Use a fork to puncture some places the cake, to go everywhere syrup. You begin to slowly pour the hot syrup over the cake, which you first left to cool, to be absorbed well. You can do the reverse, to the syrup is cold and the hot cake. Allow a few minutes to absorb the syrup ... and serve with grated coconut.
